Inbox vs Thread view
The two main ways to view replies in the Algominds dashboard — and when to use each.
What you'll learn
How Inbox view and Thread view differ, when to use each, the quick actions available in each, and how to combine the two so nothing slips through.
Two ways to look at your replies
The Algominds dashboard gives you two main viewing modes.
Inbox view lets you scan, sort, and act on lots of messages at once without opening each one.
Thread view opens a single conversation in full so you can read the history and write a proper reply.
Knowing when to use each is the difference between flying through your replies and getting bogged down in one thread at a time.
Inbox view (overview mode)
Inbox view gives you a list of all your incoming replies at a glance:
- Every reply, filtered or unfiltered
- Email and LinkedIn replies together
- Replies grouped by category (Leads, Deals, Clients, Other)
It's built for speed.
Quick actions in inbox view
Hover any row and action buttons appear so you can:
Organise
- Add or change a label
- Move the conversation between lists (Lead, Deal, Client, etc.)
- Mark a message as marketing or promotional
Manage
- Set a reminder
- Mark read or unread
- Move to archive
- Move to trash
When inbox view is the right tool
- Daily triage — scan a flood of replies and label the important ones without opening each thread.
- Multi-mailbox days — work across several accounts without switching context.
- Quick status checks — see what's come in since you last looked.
Thread view (conversation mode)
Click any message and Thread view opens the full conversation with that prospect or client.
You get:
- The full email + LinkedIn timeline with that contact
- Every previous reply, with timestamps
- The prospect's name, company, source, and any labels applied
- A reply box where you do the actual replying
What you can do in Thread view
Reply and manage
- Write or forward a reply
- Insert a saved reply template
- Add, change, or remove a label
- Set a reminder
Organise
- Toggle read / unread
- Move to archive or trash
- Move the contact to a different list
Get context
- See the prospect's contact details, company, and history alongside the thread
- Hide the prospect details panel if you want a cleaner space to write
When thread view is the right tool
- Substantive replies — when you need to actually compose a thoughtful response.
- Reviewing history — when you need to see what's been said before.
- Confirming details — when you want the prospect's info open while you reply.
The combo that works
Use Inbox view to triage and label. Then switch to Thread view only for the replies that need a proper response. This keeps your inbox moving and your replies sharp.
If a message looks "missing"
Two things can make the very first message in a thread not appear:
- Sync hasn't caught up yet — give it a few minutes for the dashboard to finish syncing.
- Prospect replied from a different address — if they replied from
joe@example.combut you originally sent tojoseph@example.com, the dashboard can't always link the two. The reply still arrives, but the original send won't be threaded in.
If a thread still looks broken after that, hit the Ask Algominds button and we'll dig in.
